Websites
Do I need to register a website before using other features?
Yes. Registering a website is the first step. Without websites, you cannot use resources or run actions.
Can I register multiple websites?
Yes. You can register as many websites as you need. All registered websites will appear on the Actions page.
Can I remove a registered website?
Yes. Websites can be deleted if you no longer want to manage them with Control Spot.
Resources (Themes, Plugins, Snippets, System Reports)
What are resources?
Resources are items you create once (themes, plugins, snippets, or system reports) and later use through the Actions page.
Can I upload multiple versions of a theme or plugin?
Each resource holds one archive. Uploading a new archive replaces the old one. If you want to keep different versions, register them as separate resources.
What happens if I upload an invalid theme or plugin archive?
Invalid archives are rejected. Control Spot automatically checks uploaded files to confirm they are valid WordPress themes or plugins.
What is a system report?
A system report is a structured table of WordPress and server settings (Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc.). You select which data to include, and Control Spot generates reports for each website.
What are snippets?
Snippets are small pieces of PHP code that can be applied once to a website. They are useful for quick adjustments or running small tasks.
Actions
What can I do on the Actions page?
The Actions page lets you install, update, activate, deactivate, or delete themes and plugins, apply snippets, update WordPress core, and view system reports.
Can I apply actions to multiple websites at once?
Yes. You can select specific websites or apply actions to all registered websites at the same time.
Will I see results after running actions?
Yes. After running an action, you’ll see a status table showing success or failure for each website.
Can I edit the results of system reports?
No. System reports are read-only. Each row shows data collected from a single website.
General
Can I undo an action?
Most actions cannot be undone automatically (for example, deleting a plugin). Use caution when performing destructive actions.
Is there a limit to how many resources or websites I can register?
Yes. Limits depend on your user plan. Within those limits, you can freely add websites and resources.
